Food Safety

Every year, many people are made ill and some even die as a result of eating contaminated food. Food businesses have a legal and moral obligation to ensure they are not contributing to these statistics.

Food safety is an essential part of any food business. Food safety regulation EC 852/2004 ‘hygiene of foodstuffs’ require all food business operators to ensure that food handlers are trained commensurate to their work activities.

Ensure staff have the knowledge of food hazards and controls, along with industry good practices will help the business in the production of safe food and in meeting the food safety legislation. One way of achieving this is for staff to take accredited qualifications, this helps the business in proving due diligence. Qualifications are recognised by enforcement officers, food safety consultants and auditors, and enable any business to demonstrate their commitment to providing safe food and being legally compliant.
